Cory-Merrill has spent the last two decades trading its postwar brick ranches for something bigger. Walk the blocks between University and Colorado Boulevard and you will see it: pop-tops mid-frame, scrapes becoming custom two-stories, 1950s footprints doubling overnight. All that new square footage is an opportunity, and a risk. Builder specs and safe finishes turn a custom house into a generic one fast. This is exactly the moment to bring in a designer who thinks in construction documents as fluently as fabric, someone who can make every decision intentional before the drywall goes up.
That is the work E+E Design Consulting was built for. Kendra Stewart founded the studio in 2021 after fifteen-plus years in design and construction, with a background in architectural detailing, construction documentation, and custom cabinetry. She speaks builder fluently, which matters when the project is a ground-up build or a full renovation rather than a coat of paint. The goal is a home that reads collected rather than staged: layered, livable rooms, unexpected details worked into the millwork, and a set of decisions your contractor can actually execute. Curated, intentional, and anything but ordinary.
Our closest finished work sits just across Mississippi Avenue. In 2023 we completed a whole home renovation in Bonnie Brae, Cory-Merrill's neighbor to the north: a colorful, deeply personal project with a navy kitchen, his-and-hers offices, and a finished basement made for real life. We are a Denver studio, so Cory-Merrill is home turf rather than a road trip, and the housing stock, trades, and permitting here are familiar territory.
